The Baron de Hirsch-Back River Cemeteries Inc. is committed to the care and upkeep of two of Montreal's oldest Jewish Cemeteries, the Baron de Hirsch Cemetery and the Back River Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
It is our promise to the Montreal Jewish community to continue to provide a dignified resting place in a setting that exudes peace and serenity.
FIND A GRAVE
Each grave can be easily found in either of our cemeteries whether in advance or once on the grounds. Click here or look for the Find a Grave signs through the cemeteries and scan the QR Code with your smartphone to assist you with directions from your exact location. We have also digitized every gravestone, so that you can visit your loved ones virtually - from anywhere.

PRESERVE OUR LEGACY
To ensure a dignified resting place for generations to come, it is our mission to provide for the perpetual care of the cemeteries. Donations ensure the needed resources for us to fulfill this promise - and includes ongoing maintenance of the grounds, gravesites and older monuments, as well as cemetery security. All donations of $18 and more are tax-receiptable.

The sale of gravesite floral arrangements pays tribute to loved ones, beautifies the cemeteries and assists us in the maintaining of the grounds for generations to come. We provide many options to choose from including annuals and spring bulbs. To make a floral purchase for your loved one(s), please visit our order page. The deadline for summer planting is April 30th.
