Vehicle Access Policy - de la Savane

Sundays & Statutory Holidays | May to October
To preserve the dignity of the cemetery, ensure safety for visitors, and accommodate funerals and unveilings,
vehicle access is restricted  from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm on Sundays and statutory holidays during the summer season (May 1 to October 31).
We appreciate the cooperation and understanding cooperation. 

General Vehicle Restrictions
No general vehicle access is permitted on cemetery roads during restricted hours.
Clear signage will be placed at the entrance indicating “No Cars – Handicap Access Only.”
Office parking areas are reserved and clearly marked.

Permitted Vehicle Access (Exceptions)

Vehicles may be permitted at the sole discretion of cemetery staff for:

Individuals listed on the Unveiling Special Request List
Elderly visitors
Visitors with mobility challenges (e.g., wheelchair, crutches)
Compassionate or exceptional circumstances

Afternoon Access
After 3:00 p.m., vehicle access may be permitted until closing, provided it does not interfere with a funeral or unveiling.
Parking & Driving Guidelines
When permitted, vehicles must park on the right-hand side of the road
Gate Access
To manage traffic safely:
One main road gate will be opened to vehicle traffic for both entry and exit
A secondary gate may be partially opened for:
Pedestrian access

Funeral services
All other gates are pedestrian-only
Gate access may change throughout the day depending on funerals and unveilings.
During Funerals & Unveilings
Vehicle access is strictly controlled during services
Entry and exit gates may be reassigned in real time to ensure:
Dignity of services
Safety of mourners
Smooth traffic flow
Security & Safety

Security personnel are stationed at cemetery road gates to:
Control vehicle entry and exit
Provide assistance and guidance to visitors
